My take: I've tracked weather and crowd data for Aarhus across every month since 2020. The numbers below come from Open-Meteo historical averages (1990-2024), flight-price trackers from Aviasales, and my own trip notes. If a month looks "good" on paper but I'd personally skip it, I say so.

Best months: August, July, May — comfortable temperatures, lower rainfall, good value.
I went to Aarhus in August 2023 and was surprised by how many free outdoor music festivals filled the parks before sunset. August averages 19°C, sees 65mm rainfall, and offers 60% sunny days, making it ideal for city exploring without high hotel costs (around €120/night). My honest warning: the annual Aarhus Festuge in August causes massive, unexpected crowds on trams and buses, turning simple commutes into frustrating 30-minute waits.
