My take: I've tracked weather and crowd data for Bordeaux across every month since 2020. The numbers below come from Open-Meteo historical averages (1990-2024), flight-price trackers from Aviasales, and my own trip notes. If a month looks "good" on paper but I'd personally skip it, I say so.

Best months: July, August, October — comfortable temperatures, lower rainfall, good value.
I went to Bordeaux in June 2023 and was surprised by how early the vineyards turned golden with harvest prep, not just summer green. July averages 27°C with 60mm rain and 75% sunny days; August hits 29°C, 55mm rain, 70% sun; October is 17°C, 70mm rain, 55% sun. I warn that popular châteaux tours often require booking 3 weeks ahead, a hidden cost guides omit, leading to empty slots if you arrive unprepared.
